Preparation

WOOD: Ensure bare wood is clean and dry. Apply UCP or alternatively 1 coat of Yacht Primer thinned 10-15% with Thinners No.1 to ensure penetration and adhesion.
OILY WOODS e.g. Teak: Clean with thinners. Allow to dry. Thin first coat of Yacht Primer 15-20% prior to application.
STEEL: Degrease with solvent or Yacht Line Super Cleaner. Grit blast to Sa 2½-3. Use angle grinder on small areas.
ALUMINIUM/ALLOY: Clean and degrease with Yacht Line Super Cleaner. For better adhesion, mechanically abrade using aluminium compatible paper or low pressure grit blast using aluminium oxide. Pre-prime using Etch Primer.
ZINC/GALVANISED STEEL: Degrease with Super Cleaner. Pre-prime using Etch Primer.
